Sentences

Once and a while Kristian comes out with complete sentences, which is amazing, because the rest of the time, he still babbles on in indistinguishable nonsense!  So, yesterday, after pulling a toy away from Erin, he says: “Mommy, I got it!” with a big smile :-) Erin, of course, was not too happy, and kind of frowned at me because i was showing excitement at what Kristian had done.  Kristian also now proudly says “dump-a-truck”  :-)

We have been surprised too, to Erins recent communication developments.  She picks up the baby signs really fast.  A few that she does are; please, thank you, milk, and all done.  Also, her favorite speaking word is “baby” :-)

Flying trip to Indiana

Ok, I’m not even going to comment on the absence of my blogging lately, because I really don’t have a good excuse!  My Aunt Laurie, Anna Frankie and I all headed down to Southern Indiana last week for a little family time with the Gabharts and my mom.  It was great to see every one!  We have uploaded new photos so take a look!

And Finally.. a Heyes post :-)

Well, we have been very bad at blogging the last month, but I guess that is due to the fact that we have been so busy in our new house!  We like it so much and are loving the space!  It does have a lot of potential/projects, which means work ultimately, but we are enjoying it just the same :-)  The other big news is that Erin has finally started crawling!  She is loving it!  She is a lot more content now that she can follow Kristian around.  Of course it does not really make it any easier for me…  but still I am excited that she is on the move.  We have just posted loads of pictures, so have a look at Flikr.

Erins 1st Birthday!

We had a fun filled day at the farm as we celebrated Erins first Birthday.  All of the “local” family got together, and it was extra special to have Nana and Granddad Heyes here too.  Erin enjoyed opening presents, and was not intimidated by her cake at all :-)  Thanks to everyone for all the great presents and efforts to make this such a special day!  See all the pictures on Flikr.

Frowns and Shrugs- This ones for Ju

This is a special post, especially for Ju, as I know she will be wishing she was on a plane to come see us today!  We wish you where coming too, and hope it works out soon!  Erin’s latest trick is frowning, and Kristian picked up shrugging his shoulders from somewhere…  Both are dead cute :-)  Lots of Love to you Auntie Julie!

OOOPS!

Today I locked my kids AND my keys inside the car….  It must have been quite a scene there in the parking lot of  Bed Bath and Beyond,  as I shouted through the window, desperately trying to get Kristian to push the right button to open the door.  Kristian and Erin thought it was hilarious to see mummy shouting and pointing through the window…  Kristian laughed, giggled, played around for a while, and stuck his nose up to the window.  After about 10 minuites I finally got him to open the door. Phaweeeew!  Sometimes this whole  motherhood thing really wears me out!

I love Junk!

I think my immediate family members would all agree that I love junk, and they can probably all remember one of my many childhood”collections”.  I collected anything from pencils, rocks,  keys, to even toothbrushes.  I know…  its weird, but the thing is, although I have supressed my hoarding urge in recent years, I have actually found this temptation quite useful and thrifty in the last few weeks!  Behold, The Tricycles, my $2 a peice bargains from St. Vincent Depauls thrift shop!

New Site Layout

Some of you may have picked up on the new site layout, this layout is better for showing past posts on our blog. The only problem is now the videos have to be viewed in a new window. If you follow the link via the screen shot of the player in the top left you will be able to see the clips in a new popup window, hopefully the popup isn’t’ to annoying!

New videos have been added, which include one of Kristian blowing out his candles :)

PS, I’ve just seen the funniest video clip, watch the one of Kristian and Erin hitting pots and pans. Look closely and watch Erins face, while listening for the SLAP of flesh!….

Happy 2nd Birthday Kristian!

Kristian had an amazing birthday…  thank you to everyone who made that possible.  He got so many cool presents, that will keep him occupied for weeks.  (ahhhh.. this is such a great gift for me too!)  Kristian really likes trains and everything that goes with them so we decided to start him off with his own wooden train set!  (it helped that mom and pop place had a 40% off sale on all their train stuff!)  SO, after two birthday cakes, two parties, and tons of presents we have a VERY happy boy!   Enjoy the pictures!

Hello Friends

Thank you to all of you who made the effort to comment… your great :-)   Those of you who didnt……  well..  you know who you are, and you should be ashamed. :-)

OK Fine, something about nothing!

Ok, so last night, I got a lot of hints that I don’t blog enough, so here you are ladies, an update on my not so eventful life. J

Stephen is still really enjoying his job, and I am really kind of missing going to work, mostly because the kids have been sick for the last 3 weeks.  I have done more laundry in the last few weeks than ever before.  One of the kids is puking every time I turn around!  So, they go through about 3 changes of clothes a day, and so do I, as Im in the line of fire most the time, and then there is there bed linen.  Ted is really gonna wish the water wasn’t inclusive in our rent, as there have also been a lot of unplanned baths as a consequence to all the puking!  Ahhh well, this too shall pass.  Kristian is still a little whiny today, but seems a little better.
Erin is whiny as ever, but, touch wood, hasn’t puked so far.   They both still have bad coughs, which show no sign of budging.

So, to say the least, I thoroughly enjoyed Ladies night last night, as is was amazing to get out of the house on my own for a while!  I’m finding it hard, as I can’t even go to the gym when the kids are like this! So thank you again ladies for a wonderful evening!

Oh, and for those of you that read this blog and never comment…….   Well, it would be nice to hear from you… maybe it would give me some incentive to update more often!!

1st day at work!

I had my 1st day at work today! WOW does it feel good to be walking out the door in a morning :) I did not think I would ever say that…8months of not going to work does it for you!!

I had a really good 1st day, didn’t really get that much done, but got myself settled in.

I managed to get the homepage up www.eoslightingsystems.com, still lots of work to be done, don’t really have all the content yet, but getting the site structure sorted out 1st.

Maybe I should give a background of the company. Its a small company based out of Neenah, they manufacture professional lighting equipment for the TV/Movie industry, but this also covers schools, uni’s etc….actually anyone who would have the need for any kind of set/stage lighting! The company started as a reseller, but found the suppliers could not keep up with the demand, so last year they started manufacturing their own. Sad to say this is actually done in china, and is distributed out of 3 locations in the US, the headquarters being here in Neenah.

The situation is very humble at the moment, currently working out of small warehouse units. No grand impressive buildings, but the company is still young. I’ve been taken on to develop the main company website, when this is up and running we plan to develop some smaller portals and sales based intranets. I think it’s going to be a fun company, being so young, they don’t have any kind of IT infrastructure, but in the next year or so he expects the company to grow quite rapidly, so it will be fun to be involved early on.

Update to our lives….

We are really bad at this blogging thing…maybe its because not allot happens in our lives!! That’s kinda not true…its just that we never seem to sit down and write about it….

Whats happened in the last 13 days……

Sarah got around to painting “Settlers of Catan” on to the lid of our new box, we can now store all of the games and there expansions into one box which is pretty cool, it was very annoying having to use so many boxes.

Sarah bought the kids their own little dining set for $20

We’ve signed up for family membership at golds gym. I want to lose about 40lbs (two people have been lucky enough to see my “before” pictures, they did not leave the restaurant the way they came in, I think they have started speaking again which is a good sign so I’m told!).

Sarah, I think she just wanted to have somewhere to go when she needs to let of a little steam with the kids let someone else bother with them for a while. I’ve lasted about 6 weeks. I’ve had enough! I just can’t seem to make my brain think like a 2 year old for very long, I end up with the need of wanting to get a hammer and hitting my thumb with it just to give myself some physical pain to think about.

Kristian is try/starting to talk, he has 3 colours nearly sorted out, he knows which is which most of the time, but the words come out….lellow, boo, wed….

I have a job, I’m hoping to start sometime this week, Im just waiting for a proposal which I can agree to. It will be working for a company that manufactures professional lighting equipment for the TV/movie industry.

Grandpa Aarons Lederhosen!

When Dawn and Rebbecca where here for Grandmas 80th Birthday Dawn asked Grandma if she still had the Lederhosen that my Dad wore when he was little.  Mom dressed Adrian in them when he was little, and then Bobby wore them too.  Dawn mentioned that they would probably fit Kristian now!  So, sure enough, Grandma found them in her ceder chest and gave them to me!  Then the challenge was to find a pair of knee socks that would go with them!  I found an online German clothing store, and ordered a pair!  We got them in the mail yesterday, so this morning we tried the whole outfit on!  His little boots are some that I picked up from Jim Green in South Africa! So here he is, Heir Kristian in the famous lederhosen.  SO cute!  I will have to ask Grandma if she has a picture of  Dad in them.  It would be fun to compare them!

Craft Night - With Stephen & Sarah

Well this is what we do when we get a little bored :)

I made a box with compartments to store our Settlers game in!

 and……………..

Sarah made towel hooks for the kitchen :)

Guess what we got today!!!

I came home from work today and looked in the paper, and there was a piano to give away!!!  It was right here in Neenah so we went to have a look at it and it is in really good condition considering it was a freebe!  So, with the help of Ted and a few neighbor guys we now have a piano!  YEAH!!!!
